Introduction to Talking Jazz Guitar
This course covers many jazz guitar topics, chords, scales, improvisation, styles, rhythms, techniques, comping, etc and is built around four tunes in different main stream and contemporary jazz styles that are used as vehicles to explain and demonstrate all of these concepts. Most lessons consist of videos, with an animated fretboard inserted to show exactly what is being played and explained. All tunes have real backing tracks in various tempos that you can use to practice. A chord primer is provided as an additional document for download.
Two of the four tunes are popular tunes on Matt's Youtube channel, that you can now understand and learn for yourself.
Notation/TABS has been added to each of the four tunes in the final full soloing examples.
The main guide in pdf format provides additional background and explanation to each of the video lessons.
