Introduction

Blues Forms for Jazz Guitar is a journey from basic 3 chord blues to fully developed and advanced jazz blues in 10 steps. One single melodic theme is played throughout the whole course, while the chords, the style, and the soloing evolves from basic blues soloing with a pentatonic scale, to jazz blues, with many added and extended chords, and multiple types of scales. But, all the time, the underlying structure is that of a twelve bar blues. In this way, you learn how all these forms are related, and you also learn where all these jazz sounds are coming from, and you learn how to play them!
The main content consists of videos where concepts are explained and demonstrated. At the end of each blues, there is a solo video with animated fretboard. There is also a support file (pdf) that provides supporting material such as used chord shapes, and scales, so you can use that next to the video. Every blues has a backing track track that you can use for practice.
