Introduction and Preview Smooth Jazz Guitar Solos

This collection was conceived as a follow up to the Jazz Guitar Improvisation Workout; it has the same format (audio + notation + fretboard videos), but this collection consists only of complete solos at intermediate and advanced levels, so definitely not at beginner level. Also, many requests from guitar players for smooth jazz tracks with solos have led to this set of tunes. Of course, you can also dive in right away, if you have at least some background in basic scales and jazz chords.

This collection is not set up as a step-by-step tutorial, but rather as a collection of intermediate and advanced soloing examples, with descriptions and explanations.

The explanations given here often refer to soloing principles and exercises that can be found in the Jazz Guitar Improvisation Workout course. Music theory is not extensively treated here; if you need more information on scales and jazz chords, and how they are used, there are many resources, such as the Jazz Guitar - The Basics.

Here it is assumed you have basic knowledge about keys, scales, and chords. Of course you can still play the notation/TABS if you don't have that knowledge, but it will be a lot easier if you do.

This introduction video also contains previews of all tunes (there are no separate previews).
