Introduction to Jazz Guitar Basics.

If you really want to play jazz, you need a solid base. If you start to try and play jazz and improvise without a solid set of basic skills, it will be a long and frustrating process. Knowing, understanding, and playing basic scales and chords is where it all starts, and this course is all about that!

If you're a beginner, this is a good place to start, before going the intermediate level courses Talking Jazz Guitar, and Blues Forms for Jazz Guitar.

If you're asked to play an Eb major scale, can you do it, fluently, and without hesitation?
If you're asked to play a Gb Melodic minor scale, can you do it, fluently?
If you asked to play an F7#5#9 chord, can you do it? Can you play at least two forms of this chord?
If you're asked to play an Cm11 chord, do you know it?
Can you improvise on a D Dorian scale?
Can you play a turnaround chord sequence in F major?
Do you know when to use a Flat 5 (b5) chord?

If the answer to any of these question is ''no'', this course is for you.
